From my personal experience, it’s worth taking the time to find the right fit. Whether your lawyer is male or female matters less than feeling confident they truly have your back. Remember, this decision can significantly impact your journey, so don’t rush it.

Being financially prepared is crucial for smoother negotiations and discussions. Make sure you have clarity on:

  • Income details

  • Liabilities
  • Life insurance policies

Pro Tip: Ask your chosen legal representative what financial information they’ll need upfront. Having this prepared can save time, money, and stress during the process.

Personal Note: I found professional emotional support invaluable during my own divorce. After ending a 20-year relationship that represented half my life, I struggled with grief and doubt.
